Story
Two girls named Nana accidentaly meet on a train going to Tokyo. One follows her boyfriend, and the other dreams of succeeding as a punk vocalist. The girls hit it off, but separate without exchanging contact information . . . only to meet again in Tokyo when they both apply for the same apartment. Their new lives in Tokyo begin by deciding to live together..
About The Movie
Based on the popular comic by Ai Yazawa. The influence of "NANA" is apparent in various aspects of Japanese culture including music, fasion, and interior design - sparking a wave of fans calling themselves "NANAists." Many Jpop singers have become NANAists as well, including Ai Otsuka, Kaera Kimura the many other artists appearing on the "NANA" tribute albums. In order to accurately capture the world of the manga the film development staff exerted tirelessly to match the music, costumes and makeup that made the manga a hit. As a result, the movie has been a big hit both within Japan and abroad.
