CLASSIC SF & FANTASY FROM THE TOHO STUDIOS VAULT!
Legend has it that Toho Studios doesn't put English subtitles on their DVDs because of complex international licensing agreements. Whether this is true or not, the lack of accessibility of these classic uncut titles to Western eyes only maintains their mystique. However, if you know the stories backwards and forwards like I do, you can still enjoy these films. Toho has, in recent years, forgone much of the bonus material we've become accustomed too, but they've obviously spent a lot of effort cleaning up the images (I suspect many of the optical effects have been digitally enhanced to remove embarrassing blue screen bleed) and rebuilding the audio tracks into 5.1 stereo (the original mono mixes are still included for purists).
Get them while you still can before they disappear.
These early Toho DVDs actually include isolated music tracks with the full scores! All except "Godzilla Raids Again" scored by the legendary Akira Ifukube.
